The roundtable by the CSTO above, and recent representatives from the Eurasian Economic Union, indicates a peaceful settlement for the entire post-soviet block might be possible - and I believe the anglo/saxon block, with the 3 sisters in Bretton Woods, may eventually give their consent, if all 16 member states will prepare to negotiate, on the basis of these 3 concessions.
But, however the proceedings of those negotiations, only the political class, and their available agents in civil service, will ever benefit. The rest of us, hustling about to make a living in the market-place, scotch-hopping from one opportunity to the next, will be just as bleeped as we ever were, unless we pull ourselves up by the bootstraps, with a little help from social services.
I learned about the classical division of the university faculties, after a stay as a freelancer in the lowlands, shortly after the Gulbenkian Commission had come up with their conclusions, about the great divide between the continental & analytical tradition, which did result in a somewhat rigid ect point system for graduates, and the still ongoing debacle between si & gaussian units.
Now since I also been to Manhattan for a week, and saw with my own 2 eyes the compounded return of a few glass beads & pearls, I prefer level pro at the market-place, to academic scholar-ship or mega-pop at the silver screen - but I also realize it takes a little discipline, or regular effort in any trade, to make it way past the trainee, apprentice, proficiency & maestro level.
I therefore advocate 2 weeks of practicum, 2 times a year, for all 7th, 8th & 9th graders, according to their own genuine preference, and the options available to them in every hamlet, whereby our coming generation of technical, college & graduate students, will get the ability to choose their actual trade, on a more sound footing than identification with the latest fab.
For those of us who did, social services in every county, or the socalled schenskaya brigada, are welcome to pass by for a quarterly check up, on each individual and personal action plan, to investigate whether a gradual progression towards the dreaded principle of realnost, is actually happening, whereby our darling lot, will not just be killing time, and the life given to them.
My takeaway from the roundtable discussion at the CSTO follow below. It is also my experience as an expatriate for 20 years, and commemorates the rather honest notice, foreign authorities have given me. Maybe the spooks in all the 16 former soviet states, take heed?
