The following bullet points seek to outline the main concern for the direct parties to the conflict, with a few notes upon the interest of some of their more distant allies, in an attempt to identify common ground for the concessions, required to cease hostilities in this a continental region.

Russia the bullyboy aggressor since Georgia 2007, Crimea 2014, and Donbass 2021;

-          russian minorities in the contested territories

-          a new start on short range missiles in the former USSR

-          port in the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea & trade routes afar, in a Montreux 2.0.

Ukraine the pawn in a worldwide gambit for control over middle earth & euro-asia;

-          territorial integrity according to recent borders

-          free elections & fair licitations in a modern world system

-          the right to conduct a 1.001 enterprise in their own legislative framework.

Eventually, the Ruskies & Ukraine will be forced to negotiate a few concessions, and establish more normal trade relations, without excluding any one party, from the buy & sell side of their required & available goods & services, if they want a fair price, and a window to world trade.

We can’t dictate the terms of these concessions - and as the secretary general noted a while ago, both parties appear to believe they can settle their outstanding issues by force; only after the diplomatic tool of warfare is exhausted, will the parties begin to convene by other measures.

I suggest they aim for a ceasefire, within the foreseeable future, and begin direct negotiation.

. . .

This short take on the subject is from a Scandinavian mercantile, who prefers armed neutrality in the Baltic Sea, to direct involvement in imperial matters, from the continental blockade & a peace conference at Tilsit, to Bismarck’s expansion, peace in our time & Molotov-Ribbentrop.

A modern battlegroup of some 1.500 men o arms, in every geographic county district of some 450.000 inhabitants, ready to deter threats by air, sea, land or cyber, and deploy self-sustaining units to assist other such regiments, nor required, is all we need, to continue our trade at sea.

To muffle dissent about free riders, with only scorn for the duty-bound, risking their life & sanity in a new world order, a legislative requirement for public listings, of all corporates with annual revenues of > billion $, appear the modern resolve of kant, hume, hegel & schillers dichotomy.

File on tax, vat, tariffs & toll, as every legislative jurisdiction may seem fit, an idiot savant may even try to rule by decree, without bi-partisan support in congress – come our all-time favorite mid-term elect, how many a veto of the people’s will, does it take to impeach the incumbent?

With kind regards;

A fan of thorough-going infrastructure, wirtshafts-wunder, energi-wende & global trade.
